Unspoilt West Crete with its beautiful countryside, olive trees, mountain peaks and quiet beaches

Swim in the warm shallow sea at your favourite beach, return to see the rose pink evening light flicker over silver crags and gorges - non-yoga partners and friends welcomed.

From left: Yoga at Mithimna,  Yoga at Old Olive Mill,  Yoga at Hotel Peli,  Footprints in the sand.

Your day:

The programme will vary slightly from one teacher to another but a typical day will begin with around two hours yoga practice in the morning followed by a delicious vegetarian brunch.

You then have free time  to explore the area, take advantage of the massages and health treatments West Crete Holidays offer as optional extras, spend time on the beach, or simply enjoy the company of like-minded people.

The second yoga class of the day will take place in the late afternoon and is usually half an hour shorter in length.

After this yoga class the participants meet up again to eat, relax and chat at one of the local tavernas.

Blocks, mats, and belts are provided .

On most of our yoga holidays optional guided walks in the unspoilt countryside of this side of the island are also offered.

These cover a wide variety of terrain from rocky mountainsides rich with herbs and other plant life to beautiful sandy or stony beaches and also take in local places of interest.

Walks are generally two to three hours in length, not strenuous, and give you a real flavour of the area. They usually end in one of the many hospitable tavernas.

If you intend to walk please bring shoes with a good tread and heel support.

Location: We are situated at the western end of Crete, which is much less developed for the holiday-maker than the areas towards the other end of the island.

Group holidays are held in three venues within the rural bay area of Kissamos which has outstanding long and quiet beaches with excellent swimming.

Accommodation at Mithimna and the Hotel Peli on the outskirts of Kastelli, both are only a few minutes walk from the sea.

The Olive Mill is inland and we link it with Mithimna Beach.
