This week long workshop will invite a sense of play between both presence and playfulness, being flexible and decisive and calm yet energetic. We will practise and discuss theme related sequences and postures, breathwork and meditation and will aim to clarify our attention to movement, deepen our perception and develop a consistent quality of connection within ourselves, asanas and our practise of Vinyãsa Flow.'

By giving everyone individualized attention combined with hands-on assisting and adjustments, the goal of this retreat is to help you build a foundation for and/or strengthen your yoga practice, as well as helping you with the release of three kinds of tension - muscular, emotional and mental - thus leaving you feeling refreshed and renewed!
Invigorating and challenging, this retreat will offer a complete journey for the body and mind. Designed for beginners through to advanced practitioners, classes will consist of Vinyasa (flowing asana sequences), hands-on adjustments, Sanskrit chanting, uplifting & soothing music, meditation and deep relaxation.
Both classical and creatively-adapted sun salutations will be practised as well as standing and seated postures, balance-poses, backbends, and inversions alongside meditation, yogic breathing manipulation exercises & more.

Vinyasa Yoga with Jane Cornwall

Jane has been a practicing yoga teacher for over 10 years, building on a previous background of dancercise, Qui Gong and Pilates Instruction. All this experience has resulted in a Vinyasa style of yoga, which she believes brings focus, fun and variety to the practice, without losing its deeper meaning and authenticity.

This has led to consistently high attendance and a faithful following from her students. Her teaching style has evolved and developed through her interaction with both class members and many inspiring teachers over the years.

She has an approach which roots yoga in people’s everyday lives, with an emphasis on the significance and benefits of synchronising movement and breath. She is always keen to incorporate a pranayama element in her classes to help her students to cope with life’s many challenges and to be able to use the gift of yoga as a fundamental part of their being.

Her maturity brings with it considerable experience and she has a zest for life which results in a strong personal engagement with her class members. Her love of yoga inspires her to want to share her knowledge and help enhance the lives of others!

About this holiday:
This week will be all about the benefits of self nurture and 'going with the flow' whilst realising the importance of being strong, yet flexible, in body and mind. My aim is that participants have fun, get the opportunity to switch off from their everyday life and end the week feeling invigorated, refreshed, revitalised and with a wonderful sense of wellbeing

Morning sessions will be invigorating Flowing Vinyasa Yoga, creating heat and energy. It will incorporate breathing exercises and finish with relaxation.

The afternoon class will consist of gentle yoga postures, incorporating elements of Chi Gung and Pilates - leaving everybody stretched, soothed and contended.

Classes are suitable for all levels, newcomers to yoga are welcomed so long as they have a core fitness

2012: September 22nd  - 29th

Hatha Flow Yoga with Neville Cregan

Neville has studied Yoga and related arts for 15 years and has been teaching for 10.

In recent years his primary inspiration has been with the teaching and work of Dona Holleman and Donna Farhi whose approaches offer intelligent, modern and realistic approaches to Yoga without losing the rich timeless wisdom of the tradition.

His Asana (Yoga Postures) teaching style encourages a slow build up towards a dynamic flowing practice; it is slower than some of the dynamic forms, however, and there is plenty of time to find your way within each pose during the flow. His belief is that Yoga practice needs to fit into the practitioner, and wherever they are at, rather than the other way round.

During this holiday we will practice a wide range of poses and explore our personal limitations in a safe and enjoyable way with adaptations for individuals as required; there will be some exploration of Pranayama (breathing Practices) and simple Meditation.

The course is suitable for beginners and more experienced practitioners alike as the core principles are the same for everyone; all being well we will deepen our experience of Yoga on many levels and have fun!
